The Troubleshooter

Open Diagnostics & Setup β†’ Troubleshooter and press Run all checks. Each check shows Pass, Check (worth a look, not a fault), Failed or Skipped, and a failed check says how to fix it.

The checks run in order. When one fails, the checks after it that depend on it are Skipped, so fix the first failure and run them again. The licence check is never skipped.

CheckWhat it testsIf it fails
LicenceA valid licence is active.Enter a licence key on the driver's setup page. Until then the driver doesn't record, Vacation Mode can't start, and the actions and A/V events don't run.
Processor web APIThe processor's own Web API answers.Switch it on: Settings β†’ System Control Options β†’ Web API Settings, then reboot the processor.
API authenticationThe driver can sign in to the Web API.Re-check the Web API settings, then reload the driver.
RoomsThe processor has rooms, and at least one takes part.Add rooms in Crestron Home, or tick at least one on the Rooms tab.
ScenesThe processor has scenes.Create lighting scenes. The driver records and replays scenes only.
Recording databaseThe recording file exists and can be written.Check the processor has free space.
Database seedingThe file holds all 2016 five-minute slots.Contact support before deleting anything. Deleting the file rebuilds it, but loses the recorded week.
RecordingThe driver recorded in the last few minutes.See below.
Data coverageHow much of the week is recorded.Never fails. See below.

Recording

  • Pass: "Waiting for the first recording since the driver loaded…" The driver has just started, and the first recording is due within five minutes. The check also says how much the database already holds.
  • Check: "Paused - Away mode is running." Normal. The driver doesn't record while Vacation Mode is on.
  • Skipped: "Not recording - the driver is not licensed." Fix the Licence check first.
  • Failed. No recording for over 11 minutes. Look at the Activity tab for the error each attempt reported, then reload the driver.

Data coverage

Check means no day has reached 80% yet. It isn't a fault: Vacation Mode still works, and says what it will do. It clears by itself after about a day of normal use, and from then on Vacation Mode replays the house's own week.
